Moved by the priceless words of Charles R. Swindoll which states that “people who soar are those who refuse to sit back, sigh and wish things would change. They neither complain of their lot nor passively dream of some distant ship coming in. Rather, they visualize in their minds that they are not quitters; they will not allow life’s circumstances to push them down and hold them under”.
a few like minds of Ute-Ogbeje heritage, far and near, came together and decided to articulate a platform for ideas crystallization by dedicating themselves to a common course that would ultimately engender economic and social synergy amongst our people and the society at large.
It is a time honoured adage among our people that “a child that does not know when the rain started beating him will certainly not know where it stopped”. Going memory lane, we recall with a feeling of nostalgia our past glorious community days, when our community was a pace- setter among the surrounding communities, when we had a functional legal court, a model school, television and cinema viewing centres, a formidable football team, a boisterous market that attracts patronage from far and near, among other things. Indeed, we were the envy of other communities.
